I started this donation as an alternative to receiving gifts for my imminent retirement.

I know that many colleagues like to contribute to a collect or make a gift to celebrate a colleague who is retirring. I would like to ask you to donate here instead.

Why Amnesty International?

When I was a young man I was a refugee myself and I experienced first hand the solidarity of people engaged in Amnesty International. It is difficult to tell in words how important this solidarity is to you when you are in that situation. And, also to those in charge, the preassure of an aware public opinion and the impact of such actions is more important than it would appear at first glance.

Why women's rights? 

It is simply inadmissible that we, as a human race still face usurpation of equal rights for women.
